Jan. 2, 2001 Lloyd W. Ament Dear Mr. Ament, As mentioned in my letter dated Dec. 4, 2000, we did try to get in touch with Miriam Lee. Happily, she does not have cancer and has not died. The bad news is that she has had a stroke and is not able to speak or write. She is now living with her brother outside of Los Angeles. I have asked both her brother and her nephew in law to try to help piece together her recollections of putting together and submitting her manuscript to us, but it is almost a full month since I made this request and we have not heard anything back. Given this situation, I would like to request from Dechen Palden the exact wording and corrections he would A) like us to post on our Web site and B) include on errata slips inserted into any remaining copies of the book in question. In the meantime, if we do hear back anything from Miriam or her relatives about Dechen Palden's complaints, I will be sure to let you know. Sincerely, |
