Classical Cosmetic Acupuncture (美容針灸)

Cosmetic Acupuncture is not a usual division of traditional acupuncture training both in the East and West. Most practitioners in the Acupuncture field are in lacking of such special knowledge and training, which they may apply general acupuncture rules to these particular conditions and could not produce their expected results. This is the first time that a comprehensive classical facial cosmetic acupuncture practical course is available in Canada.

This facial cosmetic acupuncture course is partly based on the teaching given by the then leading physician Dr.Tsai (蔡醫師) in 1972, who happens to be the first Chinese lady practitioner practicing both conventional medicine and acupuncture in the States.

This course is intended to help students or acupuncture practitioners to be more familiar with the facial anatomy, physiology and skin diseases. The course will include oriental facial exercise, massage technique, a general review of cosmetics, tonics and hair care, far-infra red devices, as well as facial acupuncture work-shops. Therefore students may prepare to give and receive herbal facial mask and acupuncture treatment during the course.

The course is designed for Acupuncture practitioners, MDs and all other qualified health profession. This one week-end practical course will show the students how to select the specific acupuncture points, and basic needle techniques to deal with wrinkles, puffy eyes, dark circles and dry, sagging or oily skin.
